The water and wastewater infrastructure needs in the Philippines are phenomenal. So it was great to be in Manila with my Aither colleagues Will Fargher, Nick Clarke and Huw Pohlner (胡文平) kicking off our new major project on the economic evaluation of water and sewerage projects. Our workshop emphasized that good economic evaluation not only helps decision makers select the best projects to implement when resources are constrained, it should also be seen as an opportunity to build long term stakeholder support through transparency and collaboration. Working internationally also forms part of Aither’s commitment to making a difference in relation to Sustainable Development Goal 6 and as a B-Corp.
"Access to safe water and sanitation and sound management of freshwater ecosystems are essential to human health and to environmental sustainability and economic prosperity."
