For the past decade, Will Fargher has overseen Aither’s growth as a leading water advisory firm with a global team and impact.
Growing up in agriculture and attaining degrees in economics, geography and environmental science, Will understands the value of water and is passionate about improving its management and use.
Will is known for his strategic leadership, synthesising complex issues and communicating persuasively to promote positive change. He has 20 years’ professional experience advising on water across the public and private sector, and has advised governments and businesses in Australia, Central and South Asia, the Middle East and North America. Will has led numerous national level dialogues, including based on WaterGuide, which he co-authored as part of Aither’s contribution to the World Bank and United Nations High Level Panel on Water.
Before co-founding Aither in 2012, Will spent seven years working at Australia’s National Water Commission, including three as a General Manager. He led the National Water Initiative work programs on rural and urban water, along with assessments of progress in implementation of national water reforms.
Will is a Churchill Fellow, a member of the Australasian Journal of Water Resources Editorial Panel, and a past member of the Expert Panel overseeing Australia’s National Infrastructure Plan.
