Kate is a water professional with two decades of public and private sector experience, across the water infrastructure life cycle, in Australia and internationally. For the past seven years, Kate has worked for water utilities in roles that require a deep understanding of utility operations and how operations align with policy, regulation, and strategic plans.

Kate specialises in assisting water utilities and government draw together technical evidence and stakeholder insights to structure strategic frameworks and initiatives to meet shared objectives. A strategic thinker and skilled facilitator, Kate works closely with clients, their Executive Leadership Teams, and their stakeholders to develop, review and continuously improve corporate and water security strategies and strategic plans.

Kate has a strong foundation in water supply, including working in water supply operations in Australia and England and on the Victorian Desalination Project feasibility study, design, construction, and operations planning. More recently, Kate has developed water security strategy and strategic plans for multiple water utilities including the Greater Melbourne Urban Water and System Strategy (GMUWSS). Her passion for delivering strategic outcomes that are valued by community has seen Kate develop a community-led and Traditional Owner collaborative approach to the GMUWSS development, setting a pathway for Melbourne water utilities to work with Traditional Owner groups in water management and water return. This passion has also seen Kate support securing safe water supply for regional communities, through assisting regional NSW Councils meet new water quality regulations and facilitating fast-track planning approvals for delivery of water infrastructure in times of dry conditions, such as the Colac Water Supply Upgrade. This experience underpins Kate’s focus on corporate strategy and water security strategic planning to meet the complex challenges facing the water sector.

Collaborative, diligent and curious, Kate’s passion is working with clients to develop pragmatic and innovative solutions for strategic challenges that deliver value and positive outcomes for clients, the environment, and the community.
