Lawson is a talented generalist with a background in sustainability, water resource management, science and public policy. Diligent, approachable and strategic he enjoys navigating complex problems to distil practical and actionable insights for clients.
Lawson’s strengths lie in his ability to provide detailed policy and strategic advice to diverse clients. Lawson has extensive experience leading and contributing to major projects spanning rural water policy and management, water markets, regulatory economic policy, emergency management and regional development. Lawson’s analysis has a strong foundation in developing and evaluating policy based on a clear vision and outcomes. Lawson is also an adept project manager who applies robust approaches and tools to achieve project outcomes. He has successfully managed many complex and multi-disciplined water reform projects for Commonwealth and NSW government. Through this he has a strong understanding of relevant policy and legislation as well as the practicalities of their implementation.
Lawson attended the Australian National University where he received a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability). This background has given him a passion for shaping public policies that address real-world sustainability challenges affecting communities, industry and the environment .
